How Online Pediatric Physical Therapy Can Help Your Child in the UK

If you are a parent in the UK caring for a child with special needs—whether it’s cerebral palsy, developmental delay, Down syndrome, or autism—you already understand the importance of early and consistent therapy. But what happens when you’re placed on a months-long waiting list for even a basic consultation?

Unfortunately, this is a common struggle within the UK healthcare system, where families often wait weeks or months to access initial therapy sessions. This delay can be frustrating and disheartening, especially when early intervention is critical to your child’s long-term development.

As a pediatric physical therapist, I understand how precious early years are for motor development—and I’m here to offer a solution.

Why Online Pediatric Physical Therapy Works

Technology has made it possible for children to receive high-quality therapy services without leaving home. Through video consultations, I help parents across the UK understand their child’s physical needs and implement customized home-based exercise plans.

Here’s how I can help you from day one:

  1. Personalized Online Assessment: I’ll evaluate your child’s physical development and needs through a video call.
  2. Early Intervention Protocols: These are crucial for building core strength, balance, coordination, and mobility—starting as early as possible.
  3. Custom Exercise Plans: You’ll receive a weekly home program tailored specifically for your child’s condition.
  4. Parent Training: I’ll guide you on how to safely perform therapeutic activities with your child at home.
  5. Urgent Access: No long wait times—appointments are available on short notice.

Why We Offer This Service

During my years of professional experience, I’ve encountered many UK families—especially those in rural areas—struggling to access timely therapy. The delay in receiving help leads to lost developmental opportunities, increased parental stress, and reduced confidence in care.

That’s why I’ve dedicated myself to offering affordable, accessible, and compassionate online support for families in the UK. Whether you’re on a waiting list, unsure where to start, or just need expert guidance, I am here to support your journey.

Let’s Begin Your Child’s Progress Today

I currently provide online consultations and therapy planning to families in the UK and internationally. Together, we can build a strong foundation for your child—right from your home.

To get started, simply email me at: dr.manan.pt@gmail.com

You’ll receive a quick response with consultation availability and a simple intake process.

Let’s work together to make sure no child has to wait for the care they deserve.

With care and commitment,

Dr. Abdul Mannan PT

Honoring the Heart of Healthcare: A Tribute to Nurses on International Nurses Day

Date: May 12, 2025

Every year on May 12, the world pauses to recognize the unsung heroes of our healthcare systems—nurses. Celebrated on the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the pioneer of modern nursing, International Nurses Day is more than just a date. It’s a moment to reflect on the compassion, resilience, and skill that nurses bring to our lives every day.

The Backbone of Care in America, the U.K., and Canada

Whether it’s a bustling emergency room in New York, a rural clinic in Saskatchewan, or a community hospital in Manchester, nurses are there—offering a steady hand, a listening ear, and expert care. In Canada, nurses have played a critical role in bridging healthcare gaps in Indigenous and remote communities. In the United Kingdom, the NHS thrives because of its dedicated nursing staff who go above and beyond every shift. And in the United States, nurses are at the frontlines of healthcare innovation, leadership, and advocacy.

Their work transcends borders and roles. From managing chronic illnesses and delivering babies to comforting families and coordinating care teams, nurses are not just caregivers—they are educators, leaders, and healers.

2025 Theme:

“Our Nurses. Our Future. The Economic Power of Care”

This year’s theme emphasizes not only the emotional and physical strength of nursing but also its economic impact. Investing in nursing is investing in the future of healthcare. When nurses are empowered, supported, and well-resourced, entire health systems flourish. They reduce hospital stays, improve patient outcomes, and provide cost-effective care—proving that their value extends far beyond the bedside.

A Personal Thank You

To every nurse in the U.S., U.K., and Canada: Thank you. Thank you for the sleepless nights, the double shifts, the tough conversations, and the lives you save—sometimes silently, always selflessly. Your dedication during pandemics, in times of peace, and through everyday challenges makes you the true heartbeat of healthcare.

How We Can All Show Appreciation

  1. Say thank you: A kind word goes a long way.
  2. Advocate: Support policies that invest in nursing education, staffing, and mental health.
  3. Listen: Understand the challenges nurses face and be part of the solution.

As we celebrate International Nurses Day, let us remember: A world without nurses is a world without care.

Every Child Deserves a Chance — Understanding the Journey of Special Children

In every home, a child’s first words, first steps, and joyful expressions are celebrated with pride. But what happens when those milestones come later than expected? What if a child takes more time to speak, walk, or respond to the world around them?

As a pediatric rehabilitation specialist, I’ve often witnessed the silent worries of parents who feel lost when their child doesn’t “fit the mold.” They compare, they question, and too often, they blame themselves. But here’s a truth I want every parent — and every professional — to remember:

Every child is unique. Every child grows at their own pace. And every child deserves a chance.

Some children learn and grow differently due to conditions like autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, or neurological differences. But these challenges are not the end of the road. In fact, with timely support, early diagnosis, and a little bit of extra care, these children often go on to surprise us in beautiful ways.

What truly makes a difference in their journey is not just treatment or therapy — it’s the love, patience, and belief of their caregivers. A confident parent, backed by the right knowledge and resources, can become the most powerful force in a child’s development.

At the Pediatric Rehabilitation Organisation (PRO), our mission is simple yet profound: to ensure that every child — regardless of their challenges — receives the understanding, support, and dignity they deserve. We work with families to break through fear, remove social stigma, and open doors to growth and healing.

But our mission cannot be fulfilled by professionals alone. Society must play its part. Instead of labeling or excluding special children, we must learn to include, accept, and uplift them. A kind gesture, an encouraging word, or even a warm smile can provide comfort to a parent who is struggling silently.

These children may not always walk the same path as others, but their journey is just as valuable. With the right guidance, many go on to live fulfilling, meaningful lives — not in spite of their differences, but often because of the strength they build through them.

Let’s stop asking, “Why isn’t this child like the others?”

And start asking, “What can we do to support their unique journey?”

Together, through compassion, awareness, and collaboration, we can build a future where no child is left behind simply because they are different.

Autism in America: A Rising Concern or Renewed Opportunity?

Why Is Autism Getting Political Attention Again—and What Does It Mean for Families?

Recently, former U.S. President Donald Trump made headlines by spotlighting autism during a public appearance, reigniting national conversation around a topic that deeply affects millions of American families. With 1 in 36 children now diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), many are asking: Are we doing enough?

As a pediatric physical therapist who works closely with children on the spectrum, I see the daily challenges families face—long waiting lists, expensive therapies, and a lack of inclusive community spaces. But I also witness the incredible potential of early intervention and specialized care in transforming a child’s developmental journey.

This raises some important questions for all of us:

  • Do you feel that autism awareness has improved in your community?

  • Has your family struggled to access support or therapy services?

  • What kind of resources or changes would make the biggest difference in your child’s life?

👉 Drop your thoughts in the comments below. Your experiences could help others feel less alone—and push the conversation forward.

At a time when political figures are speaking about autism, let’s make sure the voices of parents, professionals, and autistic individuals themselves are leading the dialogue.

Together, we can advocate for a future where every child receives the care, support, and opportunity they deserve

My Life Story

Being a middle child belongs to middle class family. I had and have been facing almost same challenges youth graduates face.

3 years back I left home , I switch city, started practice solely from zero without depending on referrals, Pursued dual Degrees, i struggled for survival, tried freelancing, i did part time business too, i did work for upto 16 hours a day.

Cried alone in front of Allah, Depression tried to hit hard, i get stressed by work overload, Family issues, not generating enough revenues, out of savings... Like 80% of youth here, i have been through all this.

But i believe! Alhumdulillah, I survived (Yet battle is still continued). In recent years. I have learnt that, One must have a strong believe in Allah. Have flexible personality but a firm vision. Compromise if there's nothing harmful or wrong but don't compromise on your values. Don't allow anyone to disrespect you. Don't blame others, Don't "sell" your self. Don't let other powers to control your strings. Work on your demands. Don't fell for money. Invest in yourself and then make assets. Travel a lot. Don't waste money to impress others or making fake empire.

If you want to fight, stay in the battle field. Have trustworthy team or fellows around you. Accept challenges, learn new things. Don't hesitate to meet new people & stay connected with your people.

You can adopt different ethically possible ways to achieve your goals but don't forget your ambitions. Never get attracted to other faces because screens are colorful and purposefully made to showoff but Everyone is fighting with different stories, issues and behind the scenes. So stay focused on your story.

One last thing! Ever wonder why most of the people around us are not happy with what they are doing?

Beacuse they either don't have own ideas and most commonly during their survival period, people stop their journey, leave their goals behind.  They stick to their survival position,  and try to satisfy their inner self to stay happy in survival mood throughout life. They stop struggle and spent their whole life just to survive daily.

No doubt! Survival is tough and revolutions doesn't happen overnight but atleast grow every day and chase your goals. Stay Strong, Its never too late.

Believe in Allah and trust yourself. One Day, Inshallah, Very Soon.. You can make it possible.

Golfer's elbow | Symptoms, Causes and treatment

Golfer's elbow, also known as medial epicondylitis, is a condition that causes pain and inflammation on the inner side of the elbow, where the tendons of the forearm muscles attach to the bony bump (medial epicondyle) on the inside of the elbow.

This condition is commonly caused by repetitive gripping, throwing, or lifting activities that strain the forearm muscles and tendons.

Symptoms of golfer's elbow can include pain and tenderness on the inner side of the elbow, stiffness or weakness in the wrist or forearm, and difficulty gripping or holding objects.

Treatment options for golfer's elbow may include rest, ice, anti-inflammatory medication, physical therapy, and in severe cases, surgery.

Prevention measures such as using proper equipment, warming up before physical activity, and avoiding overuse or repetitive strain can also help reduce the risk of developing golfer's elbow.

Wilson's disease | Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Wilson's disease is a rare genetic disorder that causes copper to accumulate in various organs of the body, especially the liver and brain.

This buildup of copper can cause a range of symptoms and complications, including liver disease, neurological problems, and psychiatric symptoms.

The condition is caused by mutations in the ATP7B gene, which is responsible for regulating copper levels in the body.

In people with Wilson's disease, this gene doesn't function properly, leading to excessive copper accumulation.

Symptoms of Wilson's disease can vary widely depending on the extent of copper accumulation and which organs are affected.

Some common symptoms include fatigue, abdominal pain, jaundice, tremors, difficulty with coordination, and changes in personality or behavior.

Physio therapy Management

Physiotherapy can be beneficial in managing the neurological symptoms of the disease, such as tremors and difficulty with movement.

A physiotherapist can design movement therapy programs to improve strength, balance, and coordination, as well as prescribe exercises to manage muscle stiffness.

Additionally, physiotherapy may be helpful in addressing any pain or discomfort associated with the disease, improving overall quality of life for individuals with Wilson's disease.

Topper turned Militant!

This picture might looks normal but unfortunately its not.

Here's is a story of topper turned militant. This guy Aqsan Mahbob is not dead nor alive. Shocked...? Let me explain!

Hujra shah mukeen is a small town in district Okara. I was there for a meeting in high school of Hujra from where 9 years back Aqsan topped in Matriculation. I call one of our common friend irfan. Few minutes later, he was there and we meet after 7 years. Talking about days we had spent together and old stuff while sitting in School Library. Moments later! He pointed his finger towards this board (shown in picture) and mentioned the name Aqsan.

Aqsan was a bright young boy from a poor family. Due to his excellent result, He got admission in Punjab college in Fsc Pre Engineering. As i was in same college studying Pre Medical. My cousin and few of my friends were in same class as Aqsan. And i often use to visit them, that's why i also had a little interaction with him..

He was strict in his rules, Extremely religious and over reactive. But still things were under control..

Time passed away ! I went to medical school and he got admission in Punjab University. Later that year, one day i was in campus and heard news about contingent of Military intelligence (MI) took position in front of the house on July 16 2014 few kilometers away from our hostel. Sting operation was held later that day.

While watching news on TV! It was hard to believe that Aqsan was among these terrorists inside apartment loaded with explosives. A police report describes Mehboob as an “aggressive young man” who “got inclination for jihad and got proper training”. As per early news! He was dead. The most disturbing thing was...Why Aqsan was there? How he became terrorist? Who was behind him?

Banned Militant organizations still working in our society. Not much active after Zarbe Azab but they still have sleeper cells among us. And yes they can easily capture immature minds in the name of "Jihad" voluntarily i mean they have unpaid & dedicated force of soldiers. Who are ready to kill & ready to die. Hard to digest but its true.

Here's a big question mark not only on law enforcement agencies but also on parents and ulma Akram/Teachers to check their youngers.. What they are doing? where they are going and meeting with...?

I was about to forgot him but then after 6 years of this incident. I saw his name again. I inquired about him and i came to know that Aqsan is Still alive but living in Death cell, imprisoned in Sahiwal.

Story looks interesting but actually it is disturbing for me. If either i could get a chance to meet Aqsan i will surely ask about his ambitions if they are still same or melted? Wither he want to live another happy life serving his nation or if he is happily living in death cell...!

I have a strong believe that our religion don't allow killing your fellow beings even if they are non Muslims, until unless somebody has destructive plan. And Yes! If you want to fight with enemies, join Armed forces not militant groups.

Life is unpredictable. Stay safe.

Why I Love Physiotherapy | Motivational.

Yesterday I was called by hospital receptionist after duty hours, I was informed that a female patient is waiting for me. She is suffering from acute shoulder pain and not willing to take medicine i.e pain killer. I told her that it's hard to visit right now because after aftar I didn't eat anything and I have to prepare for namaz traweeh too & female physio is also not available right now.. But they insisted me to manage her pain.

To Read more Motivational stories, visit link:

Okay, I said! and after some time I was there. I gave her session. She was much satisfied,She was happy. She said thankyou for coming.
I asked her that why you insisted to get physiotherapy session instead of painkiller. Due to the side effects of medicine & even my stomach could not afford medicine now. She Replied!
[Purpose of sharing this experience is; it doesn't matter if we would you use prefix Dr. Or not, if we could practice medicine or not. What matters is People acknowledge our services,They know our value. They are turning towards physical therapy. They know medicine do have side effects.]

Physiotherapy is 5 year Degree Program upgraded from 4 year in 2008. But still there is no independent regulatory authority i.e. Independent "Physiotherapy Council" in Pakistan. In result of government negligence Professionals & Students are facing extreme Challenges in Public & Private sector in maintaining there Professional clinical Practice, Academic Activities as well as there worth, Dignity and Professional Protocol.

I love Physiotherapy.

#Physiotherapy #SayNoToMedicine
Yesterday I was called by hospital receptionist after duty hours, I was informed that a female patient is waiting for me. She is suffering from acute shoulder pain and not willing to take medicine i.e pain killer. I told her that it's hard to visit right now because after aftar I didn't eat anything and I have to prepare for namaz traweeh too & female physio is also not available right now.. But they insisted me to manage her pain.
What matters is People acknowledge our services,They now our value. They are turning towards physical therapy. They now medicine do have side effects.]
Just work patently, Do your job with sincerity, It's your time Physio's. Stay Proud!
(Come forward! Share your Experience)

Child labour.

Child labour:
it is often defined as work deprives children of their childhood their potential and their dignity that is injurious to mental and physical development.

Child labour is a global issue now a days.It is more common in Pakistan. Pakistan has passed laws in an attempt to limit child labour and indentured servitude but those laws were universally ignored .About 11million children aged 5-14 keep the country's factories operating often working in brutual and sqaulid conditions .
Child labour is considered as the most common problem in Asia . The main causes are poverty ,illeteracy ,increase in population ,less resources etc .
Children are in the following areas these days
-Agriculture areas
-industrial sites
-House maid
-In mills etc
About 50/children are working in agricukture areas acording to new research
Different efforts are made to reduce child labour i.e NGO group against child labour have been raising awareness to exploitation of children in pakistan.
