In medical field! Physiotherapy is a special sector that is linked to improving the quality of life from physical illness, weakness or disability, through the treatment, protection and prevention of these problems by means of natural methods, such as water (Hydrotherapy), Ice (cryotherapy), Manually (manual therapy) , Massage and exercisetherapy. Physiotherapy or physical therapy is considered to be a trustworthy method of modern era.
Historical evidence shows that this method is as effective as it is ancient. The Greek physician, also known as father of Medicine "Hippocrates" introduced the treatment in 460 BC. In 1813, Physiotherapy was introduced by Sudanese physician who is also a teacher of physical education named "Perhenrik Ling". In 1894, there were various names of physiotherapy in the UK, 1913 in New Zealand and in 1914 in Portland.
The situation in world war 1 and the critical condition of the wounded soldiers catch attention of the world and in the same period, in 1916, Physiotherapy was specially admired against its services in polio vaccination And finally, in 1921, American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) was founded, which has certainly been a good progress. Then in 1950, Physiotherapy was welcomed in private sectors, schools, colleges and sports fields outside of the world of hospitals.
The importance of physiotherapy in the present era can be estimated that physiotherapy councils have been created in various developing countries of the world, with aim to collect the people associated with this sector in educational and medical fields. Effective and timely solutions to problems.
A five year degree program for Physiotherapy (bachelor level)  and two-year Master Degree, have been introduced. While number of universities round the world are also offering Ph.D. in physiotherapy. Now the need and importance of physiotherapists around the world has been recognized. Different departments at the hospital, such as in indoor, outside even at CCU and ICU, also require physiotherapists. Physiotherapy has always been liked as it have noninvasive , non surgical solution for many diseases such as muscle and joint pain, fluid, stroke, CP, polio, ALS, pregnancy problems, alzheimer's and asthma without any side effects. Physiotherapist not only has to be given protocol in hospitals but in educational institutions (physical education expert), factories (occupational therapist), offices and specially in playgrounds (sports therapist). The secret of this sector's success is that the use of medicines for treatment is either completely eliminated or minimized to possible level in order to reduce the adverse effects of medicines.
Looking at the facts related to this sector, according to the research conducted in 2013, physiotherapy was included in some of the best jobs and is a profession that get the most salary according to another research in this scense.
On September 8, "World Physiotherapy Day" is celebrated. The purpose of which is to create awareness among the people, and to make the problems facing the sector and its appropriate development.
Regardless of having an honorable history, our present delicate and our future looks faded. At present, physiotherapists across Pakistan face their worst scenario.
It is a fear that if the relevant institutions maintain the same attitude, our country will become a cause of disgrace of profession around the world. It is now necessary that senior doctors and students belonging to this sector should be rescued from their lost location. To acquire this purpose, We should have  to take the initiative of establishing "Pakistan's Physiotherapy Council".
